Opening up your dark background,
Why should I use flash indoors and outdoors?
Using Flash as fill light and not main light.

Will go over homework
Correct and add to use of flash
Advanced flash techniques
Time: Tuesday, January 24th – 6.30 pm to 8.30 pm

Cost is: $40 for IPS members and $80 for non-members (which includes an annual membership of IPS for non-members)

Composition Workshop

“Sharing Your Vision”

(February 23, 2011, from 6:15 p.m.–8:30 p.m., Venue: TBD)

The photocomposition workshop has been rescheduled to the above date. Two major subject areas will be covered:

  • increasing your visual photographic potential and sensitivity — a discussion on training ourselves to be alert to the usual and familiar things yet seeing them anew by keying-in to our own emotional response and allowing it to be translated in our pictures; and
  • composition techniques to render the image that expresses this emotional response. Common composition techniques will be discussed, but the intent is not to provide you with a cookbook of composition recipes but to provide the necessary tools and ingredients for you to develop and express your own photographic style.

Architectural and Nighttime Photography in Washington DC with E. David Luria

Workshop Dates: February 20, 23, and 27, 2010.

The program is designed for photographers wishing to develop their skills in photographing architectural interiors and exteriors and night photography technique. The class size will be limited to 15 participants.

E. David Luria is a Washington DC-based photographer, specializing in architecture, events, art, still life, restaurant, commercial, and landmark photography since 1995. His images have appeared in over 100 publications, including TIME Magazine and the Washington Post. He is founder and director of the Washington Photo Safari (www.washingtonphotosafari.com).

“Photographic Portraiture: Lighting and Posing” by Bob Blanken
